On top of celebrating a narrow Copa Del Rey semi-final first leg victory over rivals Real Madrid, FC Barcelona were also raising a glass to capturing one of Brazil's top youth talents, with 18-year-old Joao Mendes signing a contract to continue his development at the club's famed La Masia academy.

An Eder Militao own goal gave the Catalan club a slender 1-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, meaning they have one foot in the Copa Del Rey final when Barcelona host their El Clasico rivals at Camp Nou on April 5.

However, away from the pitch FC Barcelona could also celebrate capturing the services of Joao Mendes, a young Brazilian forward who decided to cancel his contract with Cruzeiro to have a trial with the club that currently sits top of La Liga.

Barcelona's latest signing is made all-the-sweeter, as his father is a legend of the club. A Ballon d'Or winner in 2005, Ronaldinho helped the Catalan giants win the UEFA Champions League and back-to-back La Liga titles during his spell at the club.

And, now his 18-year-old son looks set to continue the 42-year-old's legacy.
